Members of a neo-Nazi group were denied a permit to hold a protest against Volusia Sheriff Mike Chitwood on Saturday, and it's not clear whether they will still arrive. But members of the Jewish community and others plan to hold a counterprotest in anticipation of the event. The National Socialist Movement planned to hold an event from 1-4 p.m. at Ormond Beach City Hall. Burt Colucci, the leader of the National Socialist Movement, applied to the city of Ormond Beach for the permit in March. He described it as a "First Amendment political protest" of Chitwood's law enforcement methods.
